About Aichi
Aichi Prefecture is located almost in the center of Japan, facing the Pacific Ocean. The total population is about 7.5 million (as of 2018) and is the fourth most populous province in Japan. The climate is mild throughout the year, and rainfall is more common in summer and less in winter.
In Aichi snowfall can be seen in the northeastern part of the prefecture, but in Okazaki City, there is only mild snow 1 to 2 times a year.
In industry, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and commerce Aichi is prosperous enough to place in the top 3 nationwide every year.
Local foods, known as ”Nagoya-meshi”, are famous throughout Japan.
There are many things you will want to try eating when you visit this area of Japan, such as “hibemushi” and “miso udon”.
About Okazaki City
Okazaki city is located near the center of Aichi prefecture. It is the third largest city in the prefecture. Okazaki Castle is located near our school, and there are many convenient shopping centers.
There are also many historical sightseeing spots, Okazaki is definitely not a town that you can see all of in a single day.
Okazaki City is well known as a good city for cherry blossom viewing and has been selected as one of the “100 best Japanese cherry blossom spots”. The Okazaki Fireworks festival in August is also famous and there are many people who come to see the fireworks from outside the city.
Seasonal flowers and historical cultural heritage are everywhere. It is a city where you can feel the unique flavor of Japan’s seasons, history, and culture.
Okazaki is located about 30 minutes by train from Nagoya, the biggest city in Aichi, and is a very convenient and easy place to live. Public security is also very good, so you can live with peace of mind.
